ASV (ASV)
"11. And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her: 12. and if she herself shall put away her husband, and marry another, she committeth adultery."
"13. And they were bringing unto him little children, that he should touch them: and the disciples rebuked them. 14. But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me; forbid them not: for to such belongeth the kingdom of God. 15. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein. 16. And he took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands upon them."
"17. And as he was going forth into the way, there ran one to him, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? 18. And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good save one, even God." (Mark 10:11-18, ASV)

"11. He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife, and marries another, commits adultery against her. 12. If a woman herself divorces her husband, and marries another, she commits adultery.”"
"13. They were bringing to him little children, that he should touch them, but the disciples rebuked those who were bringing them. 14. But when Jesus saw it, he was moved with indignation, and said to them, “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these. 15. Most certainly I tell you, whoever will not receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.” 16. He took them in his arms, and blessed them, laying his hands on them."
"17. As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” 18. Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except one, God." (Mark 10:11-18, WEB)

Why these four translations
ris3n chose ASV, WEB, KJV, and YLT for two reasons together. They are the most literal English translations available (formal-equivalence: word-for-word renderings that preserve the Hebrew and Greek grammar rather than smoothing it into modern dynamic-equivalence idiom). And they are in the public domain in the United States, which means fair-use quotation at any length requires no publisher license. Modern licensed translations (NASB95, ESV, NIV) restrict volume of quotation under their copyright terms, so they are not used at stub-level coverage here. NASB95 appears only on hand-curated rich passage hubs under Lockman Foundation's fair-use allowance.
The four:
- ASV (American Standard Version, 1901). The basis of the modern critical-text English tradition.
- WEB (World English Bible, contemporary). Public-domain revision in the ASV line, in current English.
- KJV (King James Version, 1611). Reformation-era, Textus Receptus base.
- YLT (Young's Literal Translation, Robert Young, 1862). Hyper-literal preservation of Hebrew and Greek grammar; useful for word-study work even where English reads stiff.
