10. Wherefore, brethren, give the more diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never stumble: 11. for thus shall be richly supplied unto you the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

12. Wherefore I shall be ready always to put you in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the truth which is with you.

  1. And I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 14. knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle cometh swiftly, even as our Lord Jesus Christ signified unto me. (2 Peter 1:10-14, ASV)

Why these four translations

ris3n chose ASV, WEB, KJV, and YLT for two reasons together. They are the most literal English translations available (formal-equivalence: word-for-word renderings that preserve the Hebrew and Greek grammar rather than smoothing it into modern dynamic-equivalence idiom). And they are in the public domain in the United States, which means fair-use quotation at any length requires no publisher license. Modern licensed translations (NASB95, ESV, NIV) restrict volume of quotation under their copyright terms, so they are not used at stub-level coverage here. NASB95 appears only on hand-curated rich passage hubs under Lockman Foundation's fair-use allowance.
