"44. came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately the issue of her blood stanched. 45. And Jesus said, Who is it that touched me? And when all denied, Peter said, and they that were with him, Master, the multitudes press thee and crush thee."
"46. But Jesus said, Some one did touch me; for I perceived that power had gone forth from me. 47. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people for what cause she touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. 49. While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Teacher. 50. But Jesus hearing it, answered him, Fear not: only believe, and she shall be made whole. 51. And when he came to the house, he suffered not any man to enter in with him, save Peter, and John, and James, and the father of the maiden and her mother. 52. And all were weeping, and bewailing her: but he said, Weep not; for she is not dead, but sleepeth. 53. And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. 54. But he, taking her by the hand, called, saying, Maiden, arise."
"55. And her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately: and he commanded that something be given her to eat. 56. And her parents were amazed: but he charged them to tell no man what had been done." (Luke 8:44-56, ASV)

Why these four translations
ris3n chose ASV, WEB, KJV, and YLT for two reasons together. They are the most literal English translations available (formal-equivalence: word-for-word renderings that preserve the Hebrew and Greek grammar rather than smoothing it into modern dynamic-equivalence idiom). And they are in the public domain in the United States, which means fair-use quotation at any length requires no publisher license. Modern licensed translations (NASB95, ESV, NIV) restrict volume of quotation under their copyright terms, so they are not used at stub-level coverage here. NASB95 appears only on hand-curated rich passage hubs under Lockman Foundation's fair-use allowance.
The four:
- ASV (American Standard Version, 1901). The basis of the modern critical-text English tradition.
- WEB (World English Bible, contemporary). Public-domain revision in the ASV line, in current English.
- KJV (King James Version, 1611). Reformation-era, Textus Receptus base.
- YLT (Young's Literal Translation, Robert Young, 1862). Hyper-literal preservation of Hebrew and Greek grammar; useful for word-study work even where English reads stiff.
