It appears ~50× across the historical books and prophets. The oath logic: the *enduring being of the LORD* is the witness against the oath-taker; if the oath is false, the LORD's living-being itself is invoked as the guarantor of the curse. The Greek θεός ζῶν (*theos zōn*) is direct LXX activation of *Elohim chay*. **Karl Barth** (*Church Dogmatics* II.1), the *living God* doctrine is the centerpiece of Barth's reading of the divine attributes; God's life is His own self-determining act, not a static metaphysical property.
